So october was rough and I have been busy

truth be told this blog post is going to be a little thin this month but rest assured I am still drawing! here is what I am going to serve today!

experimenting with texture and rendering! the first one is a finished sketch on metal while the other is meat i gave up working on !

this was some kind of trend a few years ago

so when I said the past few months were hard this is what I meant

I lost my best friend of a very long time over the summer and its been rough coping. I tried to make some art about it but I got too sad and never finished it

the short end of it: i don't like making rant art

my art takes long to make and I really don't want to spend it all on something that makes my heart wrench.

and now a series of experimenting with line art and deltarune fan art

I like drawing original pieces as you all know. If i DO draw fanart its something unique added and this is no different

I wanted to draw a comic based on this sad writing post I made on my tumblr

HOWEVER

I am someone who spends 500 hours rendering the shit out of a painting and that is NOT something you do with comics unless you are an elder god with infinite free time.

so here is those experiments!

after the breakup I wanted to re-design my character to kinda emotionally move on.

here is concept art + a shitty attempt at drawing kris.

concept sketch. it felt flat so i started over. also the background sucked.

she looks WAY better here. way more dynamic and the backgrounds were pretty passable

*gaster fade away noise*

the problem I found is something just... didn't feel right. the backgrounds were kinda muddy and the characters were nice but felt off.

also it took me a bit longer to work on them.

final experiment: make the deep darks a sharp black shadow.

this looks WAAAAAY better for a comic style and they stand out nicely without taking 5 thousand years to render

only downside: kris still fucking sucks in this drawing.

i think kris is hard to draw because this enby motherfucker has a constant poker face and appearence. I need to work on them more.
